Siena, Pisa, Lucca & Florence

Day 1: Dublin – Pisa
At the airport you will be met by your representative and transferred by coach to the beautiful spa town of Montecatini Terme, which lies only a 50 minute drive away. Here, you will stay for the next seven nights at your four star hotel on a bed and breakfast basis with three dinners included.

Day 2: At your leisure
Spend today at your leisure, familiarising yourself with the resort of Montecatini.

Day 3: San Gimignano, Wine Tasting & Siena
After breakfast, you will be collected from you hotel and brought, by coach, to the small, walled village of San Gimignano, also called the City of 1000 Towers. Located halfway between Florence and Siena, this medieval marvel is famous for its fascinating architecture and imposing towers. At the height of San Gimignano glory, some 72 towers were built by the wealthy families of the village as symbols of their wealth and power. Today, only 14 towers remain, but the city stills maintains a strong historical atmosphere and was recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1990. This afternoon, you will enjoy a spot of wine tasting in an authentic Tuscan farmhouse, after which you’ll make your way to the medieval masterpiece that is Siena. You will get to explore Siena’s spectacular surrounds with the help of a local guide, and enjoy a little free time explore it at your own leisure. Make sure to visit its spectacular cathedral, built in the 1200s. Wander the Piazza del Campo, another UNESCO World Heritage Site, home to a dramatic Gothic city hall. See the impressive Gaia Fountain, and visit the Chapel of the Virgin, before hopping on your coach back to the hotel.

Day 4: At your leisure
Make use of its superb wellness facilities, where you’ll find a sauna, Turkish baths and a wide range of fantastic beauty and relaxation treatments..

Day 5: Lucca & Pisa
After breakfast, hop on your coach for a full day excursion to Lucca and Pisa. Lucca lies 30 kilometres from Montecatini and is known for its well-preserved Renaissance walls, which encircle its historic city centre. Today, you will discover this impressive city, with the help of a Lucca tour guide. Enjoy lunch at one of the many restaurants, which line its dreamy piazzas and cobbled streets before your next stop, Pisa. Here, you’ll have time to take in this famous city at your own pace, before heading back to your hotel by coach. The Leaning Tower is just one of many other amazing sights to see. Visit the beautiful cathedral, and Gothic church, which dates to the early 13th century. For those seeking some retail therapy, a trip down Borgo Stretto, the main shopping street is a must do!

Day 6 : At your leisure
Another day to enjoy your surrounds as you wish!

Day 7: Florence
After breakfast today, your tour guide will meet you at the hotel and walk you the short distance to the train station where you will travel to Florence, which lies approximately an hour away. The birthplace of the Renaissance, Florence is a city renowned for its history, iconic architecture and exquisite art, and today you will discover it with the help of a local guide. Feast your eyes upon Michelangelo’s David. Visit the impressive Piazza del Duomo, home to the Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore, the symbol of the city. Experience the beautiful Piazza della Signoria, the historic political hub of the city. Walk across the Arno River on the famous medieval bridge Ponte Vecchio. Take some time out from all that sightseeing with a delicious lunch in one of the city’s wealth of fantastic restaurants, after which you can explore the city at your own pace. After what surely will be a delightful day in Florence, you will return to Montecatini by train.

Day 8: Return home
Hop on your coach transfer back to Pisa airport to board your plane home to Dublin.
